![]() This is just speculation on my part, I am not saying that it is true or untrue I don't know.Įarly 2019 EDIT: This is just my uninformed opinion and theory I'm not saying it's true or accurate. Late 2018 EDIT: I have a sneaking suspicion that the bogus Rebellion trademark lawsuits filed in various countries outside of the United States (where Rebellion lost) are getting in the way. I kind of wonder if, behind closed doors, they're trying to shop around the Sins of a Solar Empire IP. Ironclad presumably suffered financially when it's Sins of a Dark Ages MOBA flopped. Some have speculated that Ironclad / Stardock just don't have the funds and that other projects (Windows 10 mods) are just more profitable. ![]() Ironclad / Stardock could probably make a sequel if they really wanted to and have not made any mention of doing so yet, so what does that tell you? It tells me that we won't see one in the near future and perhaps not until all of the game's current fans have "aged out" of gaming. The announcement came just a few posts before this entire thread reached 2000 posts.Īt some point there will probably be a "sequel", but whether that's going to come in the next several years or 15 years from now when some studio that purchased the IP tries to revive an old classic, I have no idea. It was a long wait, but it's finally happening. It's been 5 years since I submitted this post and since this thread went up. ![]() EDIT - September 15, 2022.Sins-2 announced! The biggest Sins news in years. ![]()
